 CELL PHONE TIPS

  1. You could try talking less and text more to minimize head exposure.
  2. The use of a hands-free set is also recommended (a Bluetooth headset decreases radiation exposure by up to 90%).
  3. Fertility clinics report phone radiation may drop a man's sperm count by 30 percent, so avoid carrying your phone in your pants pockets.
  4. While not in use phones should be kept away from the body. So, don't put your handset under your pillow or on the bedside table.
  5. Children's heads are smaller so radiation absorption is much higher.  Either don't buy a phone, or encourage them to text instead of talking on the handset.
  6. If you're concerned about your exposure to cell-phone radiation, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) requires manufacturers to report the specific absorption rate, or SAR from every type of cell phone on the market on the FCC website.
  7. Remember, the biggest burst of radiation occurs when the cell phone first reaches out to the tower. Keep the phone away from your head while waiting for the call to go through.
  8. Finally, we feel the distraction of using the cell phone is more deadly than the radiation.
